Is Freedom for Safety a fair trade?

KATU-TV: PORTLAND, Ore. – A man who said he was fed up with being harassed by airport security stripped to his birthday suit while in an airport screening lane Tuesday evening and was arrested. According to Portland police, 50-year-old John E. Brennan took off his clothes while going through airport screening at Portland International Airport just after 5:30 p.m. and stood naked before other passengers, including children. See the video

I believe that it is legal to walk about naked in Portland OR. Saw a story about it on FoxNews…but perhaps that nakedness is limited to the naturalist’s yard. Whether it is or isn’t legal to be naked in an airport I applaud my fellow citizen for his one man naked protest stance against the illegal search of citizens at airports.

It has been 10 years and 5 months since former President Bush signed the Patriot Act into law. The act was supposedly a temporary measure taken for our safety against the terrorist hordes from the Middle-East and other parts of  the world.

No one — not granny, 3-year-olds or even super model Bar Refaeli who says of her pat down ” It left me no doubt about her [female security officer] sexual preference’ — seems to be immune to these unconstitutional searches.  What we are left with is an act the sun never sets upon and one which has an entire generation of children thinking  that it’s normal to be questioned, patted down, stripped and cavity searched before boarding a commercial airliner.

What other rights will we allow or even assist in stealing from those who cannot vote and those who have not yet been born? After all they didn’t really need their Constitutional protections against illegal search so I’m sure there must be some other right(s) we can eliminate to make their Constitutional burden lighter.
