BP to pass clean-up costs to consumers

BP, like any other company, has a profit margin to maintain for its stockholders. Any “new” expenses i.e. increased corporate taxes or Gulf clean-up costs will be passed along to the consumers.

This is a fact of corporate life. Shit rolls downhill and so do costs. Somebody has got to pay for the clean-up. And those who are always stuck with the bill are those standing at the bottom of the hill.

Not the government and not BP. The cost will be paid by the people who can’t say no. We just grumble about the rising cost of gas. When gas prices go up, transportation costs increase. When transportation costs go up, consumer goods prices go right up with them.

Who pays for the Gulf clean-up? You and I do.

Brace yourselves for the coming landslide.

See you at the gas pumps.

  1. BP will be sucking and selling crude oil from the killer well for years to come. By the end of the summer they will have 2 new wells at the site. Meanwhile the Russians are renaming the Gulf of Mexico into the Gulf of Oil.
