For the past 3 years, 1 month and 19 days Mr. Obama has sounded like a cheap imitation of Lando Calrissian doing a knock-off impression of Han Solo saying, “It’s not my fault!”
While running against President Bush’s policies, the excessive war debt, real estate bubble, stock crash and the subsequent financial melt-down Mr. Obama added the high cost of gasoline to his already long list of Mr. Bush’s public sins.
All of the above were the fault of former President Bush and Mr. Obama never let us forget it…no matter how many times Mr. Obama faltered, stumbled or fell flat on his face. It was — after all — President Bush’s fault.
President Obama has run up his own impressive list of public sins which he blames on, Bush of course, the Tea Party, tsunamis, earthquakes, the obstructionist Republican Party, Corporations, small business owners, the wealthiest five percent of Americans — now called one percenters — and Wednesdays. I have noticed that he does not blame his golf swing or anything else having to do with him, his decisions or his actions. For in Obama World it is always preferable to blame others. After three plus years why change now?
No, this time the reason for the high price of gasoline isn’t Obama, Bush or his recovering economy fault. The blame is squarely place exactly where it deserves to be and where everyone knows where it should be placed — commodity traders. But, if all else fails then place the blame back on Bush.
Today President Obama calls out the Republicans of a “bumper sticker” approach to solving the nation’s energy problems.
Since February Obama has been saying that his administration’s energy policy is “All of the above.” Well “All” but new oil drilling on public lands, new clean coal-burning power plants or Keystone XL pipeline. No, “All” meaning “doubling down” on public investments on Solyndra, GM Volt, Fisker Karma or as yet to be developed algae fuel.
I wonder if Mr. Obama considers “All of the above”, “Shovel ready jobs”, “Cash for clunkers”, “everyone gets a fair shake, and everybody pays their fair share” to be as he says “bumper sticker” politics?
